Five varieties, in-shell and as kernels

Iranian pistachios are bought and sold by variety. Each one has its own shape, size and markets.

We process all five in our factory in Mehriz: graded by size, sorted by laser and bagged for export. Closed-mouth nuts are opened by water cracking or go to our kernel line.

The varieties

Shape and size decide where a nut sells best.

  • Akbari
    Long

    Akbari اکبری

    The longest Iranian pistachio, traded as super long. Large nuts with a wide natural split and a pale shell.

    Long

    Ahmad Aghaei احمدآقایی

    Long and almond-shaped, a little smaller than Akbari. A light shell and a bright kernel.

  • Kaleghochi
    Round

    Kaleghochi کله‌قوچی

    Large and round, traded as jumbo. A full kernel with a rich taste, and one of the best-known Iranian types abroad.

    Round

    Fandoghi فندقی

    Small and round, the most widely grown variety in Iran. A good-value choice for in-shell lines and for kernels.

    Closed Mouth دهان‌بست

    Nuts whose shell did not split on the tree. We open them by water cracking or shell them for kernels on our own line.

Size is graded by nuts per ounce, for example 28/30. Packing, labels and documents follow what your market asks for. Tell us what you need and we send you an offer.
